Having no plans IS the plan!

Last weekend after (another) exhausting day, Micah and I lay in bed and commented about how we could remember the last time that we slept in on a Saturday morning. It used to be that we would sleep in on Saturday mornings, and Micah would carry on his family tradition and make pancakes, then we would have breakfast in bed, listen to music, talk, and just enjoy being together.

We haven’t done that in about 5 months. If not longer.

And it’s not just because of Caleb, it’s also because we’ve filled up our life with all this other “stuff”. Now, granted, some of the things are actually good thing, like cleaning our house, photo shoots, hanging out with friends, going to yard sales, running errands… but they took us away from our quiet, peaceful Saturdays.

That’s why this weekend, Micah and I have purposely not planned anything. We have some errands to run tonight and are cooking a hot dish for our pastor and family, but then we’re going home, locking the doors, turning off the phone, and are just going to enjoy our little family. Before I head to bed tonight, I’m going to bring the camera upstairs so I don’t have to disturb the peace of the moment when I sneak by Caleb’s crib to take pictures of my angel sleeping. Or playing, depending on what time it is.

Whenever we all finally do wake up, Micah will go downstairs and make pancakes while Caleb and I do a little light housework, if I don’t get it all done tonight after all.

Or we just might ignore the housework and play peek-a-boo instead.

Yeah, I like the sound of that much better.

All in all, it should make for a wonderful day. Hopefully, there will be sweet, family pictures to share come Sunday. 🙂

Have I mentioned lately that I love the weekend?

By the way, we’re praying for rain. After all, what is better than waking to the sound of rain and cuddling for an extra hour while the raindrops go pitter-patter outside the window?

That is my favorite moment in the world.
